EM6110 offers low power consumption and large voltage range with no external components needed;
MARIN, Switzerland – August 22, 2006 – EM Microelectronic, the semiconductor company of the Swatch Group, announces the EM6110, a bitmap controller and driver for full dot-matrix monochrome TN and STN LCD displays. With its low power consumption, large voltage range (1.8V to 5.5V for logic and 3V to 10V for LCD) and no additional external components, the EM6110 is perfect for headsets, weigh scales, utility meters, portable battery-operated products, as well as large displays.
The EM6110 drives 8 rows x 32 columns or 4, 3, 2, 1 x 40 columns maximum addressed by 3-wire or I2C interface. The display can be handled via two selectable 8 x 40 RAM banks. The EM6110 is able to operate over a wide temperature range (-40 to +85°C) and can be easily cascaded. It is particularly useful in very large display applications, such as electronic signs at airports, train stations, on buses, etc.
